There are fixed costs such as tax and duty/GST. However, other rates on charges such freight, paperwork, document handling, port charges, customs clearance and transport vary significantly between logistics providers. Due to the large volume of cargo we handle, Smith Lewis is able to get the most cost-effective rates on these fees. Further, we are completely transparent about these charges from the outset so
you are advised of the
full cost up front.
Factories in China will often quote you freight prices which do not include all the costs at your end. Items such as customs clearance, port and handling, trucking from the port, GST and quarantine fees are often left out. This does not show the full cost and will mean additional fees will need to be paid when your your goods arrive. Make sure you are being quoted on the full cost. We are happy to help check any quotes and advise on all the costs and considerations involved when importing goods.
